Ortolana

Along with Raciopella and Femminella, these olives make up the characteristic varieties of the hilly regions that dominate the Telesina Valley.  The plant is of medium size, with large, dark-green, lanceolate leaves.  The fruit is large, almost spherical, and leans towards a purple colour when mature. It can be used as a table olive.  Ortolana olive oil is greeny-yellow, has a fruity aroma with hints of apple and light, herbal notes.
